Classes & Workshops:

Memoir 2.0:
Taking Your Memoir
to the Next Level

Number of sessions: 6

Time: 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Date: Wednesdays, February 3, 10, 17, 24; March 2 & 9 - 2016

Course fee: $365

The class meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 9:00. Anyone who has previously taken a class with me is welcome. It is also open to writers who are experienced in other writing genres but are just beginning work on a memoir or a series of personal essays. In general I'm looking for students with projects underway who are looking for focused feedback and critique. We will have a topic for discussion each week and will read from various published works. My goal is to give each writer an opportunity to troubleshoot stylistic and structural issues and move their work towards completion.

Mokule‘ia Writers Retreat

Nā Wahi Ho‘oulu (The Places That Inspire)

May 1 – 6, 2016

At Camp Mokule‘ia, on O‘ahu’s North Shore

I am thrilled to announce that I will be on the faculty again at the Camp Mokule'ia Writers Retreat on the North Shore of Oahu the first week of May. This is a delightful and relaxing way to get in some writing, swim with the turtles, listen to local musicians, and maybe do a little hula dancing. It is a truly special experience.
Please look for details on the Camp Mokule'ia website and contact me ( or Connie Hale ( with any questions. Mahalo!
